Get your account ready for DMs
Instagram DMs work with professional accounts only. Switch to Business or Creator, link the account to a Facebook Page you admin, and turn on Allow access to messages so Meta can deliver DMs.

Before you connect — checklist
1Switch to a Professional accountSettings → Account type and tools → Switch to professional account.
2Link the account to a Facebook PageEdit profile → Page — Meta routes DM permissions through that Page.
3Allow message accessMessages and story replies → Message controls → Connected tools.
4Click “Connect Instagram”Log in to Facebook and pick the Page linked to your Instagram.
5Done — DMs flow into the Team InboxNext to WhatsApp, Telegram and email.
24-hour window: like WhatsApp, Instagram lets a business reply free-form only within 24 hours of the customer’s last message.

In the app, open Modules → Integrations → Instagram and click Connect Instagram. Log in to Facebook, pick the Page linked to your Instagram account and approve the requested permissions.
