No unit leaves the fridge untested
Each donation is screened for transfusion-transmitted infections such as malaria and syphilis. Units stay in quarantine until they pass — a positive result discards the unit automatically.
Tests per unit
Record each test result against the bag number.
Quarantine
Untested units cannot be reserved or issued.
Passed or rejected
Clear result for every unit, with who tested it.
Positive = discarded
A positive screen moves the unit to wastage.
